Come On Home to Grandma's Haus

To many, a visit to Grandma's Haus on Grandpa Tiny's Farm will be a journey down memory lane.
The house was originally located on Townline Road in Birch Run Township. Built around 1900, it has been donated by the Eischer family who wished to be part of William "Tiny" Zehnder's plan to build an authentic turn of the century working farm. It was moved to its present site in 1997.
The upstairs and downstairs total just 1006 square feet. Downstairs has an entryway, kitchen, dining room, pantry, living room, parlor and closet. Upstairs has two bedrooms and a closet.
In 1999 a restoration committee began meeting monthly to restore the house. Many unique items have been collected and now give the house a truly lived in look. The kitchen has a pitcher pump and a wood burning stove. An oak table adds to the authentic look.
An oak rocker, parlor set, a pump organ, sewing machine, trunk and an oak commode add to the "good old days" atmosphere. All the rooms have been furnished complete with linen and lamps.
If you want to visit the past, come on "home" to Grandma's Haus!
